Software programming is the life-blood of Vantage system lighting and automation. Programming - the generation and use of data input into a project - is in reality what drives the Vantage system. The input and distribution of data commands happen in the programming software called QLink.

Most software programming is the responsibility of qualified programmers, however, Vantage software is intuitive and simple to use. Nevertheless, you should have a basic understanding of computer terms and operation in order to program effectively. Additionally, your comfort with Vantage software programming will help you recommend, specify and advise about Vantage systems.

QLink is the Vantage software that graphically represents the physical layout of installed automation system hardware along with the management of their operations. QLink simplifies the design, layout, programming, diagnostic and reporting capabilities of a Vantage System and offers powerful features, ease of use and a high level of control over a wide range of installations.

4 major functions of QLink:

1. Physical Layout -
This is the converted version of the blueprint. This part of QLink determines the physical location of loads and stations.

2. Hardware Programming -
QLink software converts the scenarios into programming that the Vantage system can understand and implement.

3. Hardware Diagnostics -
QLink can monitor and report component status such as station, controller or module non-functionality and or other issues.

4. Project Reports -
QLink will generate a multitude of different reports such as a bill of materials, price lists, engraving details, keypad details, button reports, wiring views and many others.
